OUR FELLOWS

Learning and working with Germany's leading scientists

Our Fellows are Germany’s leading scientists in their respective field. With their stellar expertise, they provide high-level and close supervision for doctoral candidates and give them acess to first-class research infrasturctures already at undergraduate level. Together with our PhD candidates, the Fellows form the foundation of every School. They mentor our talented young researchers and guide them throughout their PhD studies. To become a Fellow of a Max Planck School, outstanding and dedicated scientists at German institutions can apply for a national call, are selected in a competitive review process, and appointed by the Steering Committee for a definite timeframe. After completion of their Fellow term (usually four years) and successful review, Fellows can be reappointed for a second and third term.

The repeated competitive selection procedure ensures that the Fellows of the Max Planck Schools are continuously representing the brightest minds in their fields within Germany and students have access to the most innovative mentors and best teachers in their fields.

The Max Planck Schools inform on their individual pages about currently appointed Fellows.
